In case someone didn’t have the patience to listen to the pod cast; the 2010 Physicians Fee Schedules release by Medicare has brought a major change in its dealings. They have eliminated the CPT consult codes from January 1 of this year. Billing for consultation is still possible but you need to put in different codes now. There is also a different modifier in place for inpatient hospitalizations. Also, when Medicare is treated as a secondary payer too, there are changes proposed. Meaning, if there are private insurers in the picture, you have to check carefully whether Medicare is liable to pay you now.

For some reason I couldn't get the video to work on my computer. I can say that I think with the current health reform we are going to go bankrupt! Sometimes I don't know what Obama is thinking when he makes these decisions.
